Evaluation Meeting for Inventory Teaching Assistants and Psychology Laboratory Student Staff
Next, Ms. Elisabeth Dwi Anggraeni, S.Psi., M.A.-as the Head of the Psychology Laboratory-gave a speech and thanked all the assistants for their contributions and support throughout the assistance process. On this occasion, the assistants were also invited to share their experiences, challenges, and difficulties faced while assisting students. Overall, the assistants said that the assistance process went well and the students they helped were quite cooperative and responsive. However, there were still some students who had trouble completing tasks and submitting reports on time.

Several assistants reported that some students postponed working on their reports until after the specified deadline had passed. In addition, some students are also difficult to contact even after being reminded through messages or invited to meet in person. The reports that have been submitted are still found to be incomplete, such as the interpretation section and test result descriptions not being finished. In response to this issue, Ms. Elis suggested that students who had not fulfilled their responsibilities should be informed that the assistants’ responsibilities end once all documents have been submitted to the course lecturer. The assistants were also asked to provide special notes regarding these students in the final evaluation form and to communicate the matter to the course lecturer.
During the evaluation session, the assistants mentioned that, in general, carrying out duties as teaching assistants went well and didn't face any significant problems. Ms. Elis emphasized the importance of maintaining mental health, both for the students being assisted and the assistants themselves. She also reminded that good communication between students, assistants, lecturers, and lab assistants needs to be maintained. Through open and effective communication, various issues arising during the practicum and assistance processes can be resolved more easily and accurately.
In the student staff evaluation session, there were no suggestions or issues that required special attention. The discussion then continued with the procedures for students who need to repeat a practicum. It was explained that students who plan to retake a practicum must first coordinate with the teaching assistant. The teaching assistant will then confirm the replacement or retake process with the laboratory staff. In addition, students who repeat a practicum are required to use a different testee from the one used in their previous practicum.
The discussion then moved on to feedback from the teaching assistants regarding the facilities and implementation of the practicum. One of the concerns raised was that some rooms were too warm, which reduced comfort during the testing process. In addition, there was a suggestion to provide more whiteboards to better support practicum activities. The assistants also highlighted the importance of clear communication regarding changes to practicum schedules or locations, as there had been a misunderstanding about a room change that resulted in delays and confusion.
As a closing remark, Ms. Elis reminded everyone of several important points to keep in mind during the practicum. One of these was the policy regarding student tardiness. Students participating in the practicum are only allowed to arrive up to 30 minutes late from the scheduled start time. In addition, the teaching assistants were asked to remind students to use the Psychology Laboratory rooms wisely and only when necessary. As these rooms are shared facilities that may also be used by others, students are expected to maintain their cleanliness and tidiness after use. Effective and responsible use of the rooms is also important to ensure that the available facilities can be utilized properly by all users.
As a final reminder, Ms. Elis emphasized that all test materials must remain within the Faculty of Psychology. They should not be taken outside the faculty area in order to keep them safe, complete, and ready for future practicum activities. Through this reminder, students and teaching assistants are expected to work together to ensure the smooth implementation of the practicum and to use the available facilities responsibly.
